dMob September

Wednesday, September 9, 2009 — September 9, 2009 6:30pm - 9:00pm Peninsula Park – Picnic Area B
700 N Rosa Parks Way
Portland, OR 97209

The time has come again to pack up the family van, load up the kids & the dog, and reconnect with your extended family – and we don’t mean cheek-squeezing Aunt Sally. AIGA invites you to the second annual dMob dLux Family Picnic. Last year’s Mount Tabor event drew 100 people, and we are hoping to duplicate the success this year on 9/9/09 at Peninsula Park. Reunite with your extended creative family, potluck style. Bring your favorite dish and beverages (alcoholic or non) to share. Maw a marvelous mutton, concoct a cool cocktail, or devour a delicious dessert all while dishing on design. Toss a Frisbee, kick a kickball, and never forget the dMob picnic mantra:”Leave the laptop. Take the cannolis.”

In the interest of sustainability and reducing waste, AIGA Portland encourages attendees to bring their own reusable outdoor tableware (plates, napkins, and utensils). However for those who cannot bring these items, AIGA will provide disposable versions, made with recycled content.

AIGA encourages attendees to take advantage of transit options available through trimet.org.

The dMob Concept

This is our monthly gathering for the entire Portland design community. Social interaction and networking is the core of this monthly event. AIGA Portland wants to encourage discussion, business development, and help foster a more dynamic design community here in Portland. Plus, with such a plethora of independent breweries, our choice of venues and beverages is expansive.

Fees

Free and open to the public. That’s right, no charge! For one, you’ll have a great time. And even better, it’s an amazing opportunity to network and meet fellow designers.

How It Works

It’s simple. When you arrive, you’ll get a sticker to wear. Venture forth, find another sticker-wearer and offer them a drink. That’s the trick: you can’t just drink your own, that just wouldn’t be social. It’s a great way to break the ice.
