Board Nominations

AIGA’s professional-level members have ratified the slate of nominees for the national board. As of July 1, AIGA will welcome the following to the board for three years:

Programming Co-Chair

Heather Dougherty – Heather is a senior interactive art director at HMH in Portland where she creates comprehensive online strategies for a host of different clients and stays plugged into the social media revolution. Her involvement with the Portland AIGA chapter began when she moved to Portland in 2005 and became involved with dMob, eventually becoming Chair of the monthly networking event and assisting with the dMob Deluxe event in March 2007. Heather attended Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia, specializing in graphic design.

Programming Co-Chair

Steve Potestio – Steve is the Managing Director/Owner of 52 Limited, a Portland staffing/placement firm working exclusively in creative and marketing services. He also teaches classes at the Art Institute, Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland State University and the University of Oregon. Before focusing his career on staffing, Steve learned the ropes of the advertising and marketing business at agencies in Oregon and the Bay area through roles in media buying, traffic, account management, graphic design and even copywriting. Recently, he served on the American Marketing Association board as programming director. Steve attended the University of Oregon where he earned his BA in Journalism with an emphasis on advertising.

Web Chair

Joaquin Lippincott – Joaquin is a veteran internet business owner with a background in web development. Throughout his career he has worked as a web designer, programmer and manager which has given him a breadth of experience he applies at Metal Toad Media. Over the years has worked with industry leaders such as Verizon Wireless, 76 Lubricants, 20th Century Fox Studios, American Suzuki Motors as well as numerous internet start ups. With over 9 years of experience in his field he is still as passionate about the internet as ever. Joaquin holds a BA in Design from UCLA.

Membership Chair

Tiffany Jackson – Tiffany is a graphic designer with Aquent in Portland. She formerly worked as a graphic artist at WHPacific and Montana State University, where she was also a senior associate. She has earned many awards and honors, including being inducted into the Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society in 2005. Since moving to Portland, she has been active with the Portland AIGA chapter serving as the Career Tools Event Chair. Tiffany attended Montana State University, College of Arts & Architecture, earning a BFA in graphic design.

Sponsorship Chair

Jennifer Green – Jennifer is the Director of Programs and Branch Manager at Volt Workforce Solutions. Considered an expert consultant locally for creative recruitment at the academic and professional level, she has worked with and recruited for nearly every creative and corporate company in Portland. Jennifer has been immersed in the creative community since graduating from the Kansas City Art Institute with a BFA in Photography and Video.

Co-Vice-President

Kristin Rogers Brown – (current Membership chair, being re-nominated for Co-Vice-President) Kristin is the Art Director at Oliver Wyman, an international consulting firm specializing in leadership development. She also serves as Art Director for ORLO’S Bear Deluxe Magazine, a publication of art and the environment which has been recognized by PRINT’s Regional Design Annual and the Utne Reader. Recently, she has been focusing on sustainability within the Portland board, instigating the Urban Forest Project in 2007. She is a published poet and essayist, and has taught and lectured on art, writing, and print production at primary, graduate, and professional levels.


Members ratified the slate through online balloting between June 14 and June 27, 2008.

 



The committee was pleased to receive the nominations for these candidates, who met the criteria and fit well with the immediate priorities facing the organization.
